Sascha Maier (born January 2, 1974 in Marbach am Neckar ) is a former German soccer player .

He started playing football at VfR Großbottwar. Via the youth teams of TSG Steinheim and SpVgg 07 Ludwigsburg , he joined VfB Stuttgart U19 in 1991 . For the men, Maier was first used in the second team before moving up to the professional squad of VfB in 1994. He played his only Bundesliga game on June 17, 1995, when he was substituted on in the 49th minute of the last Bundesliga match in a 3-1 home win over MSV Duisburg .

As a result, Sascha Maier played for various clubs in the regional league, and also played six second division games for SV Waldhof Mannheim in the 2000/01 season. In 2007 Maier had to end his professional career at regional league club SV 07 Elversberg due to an injury.

Sascha Maier lives in Bodman-Ludwigshafen on Lake Constance and studies economics at the Hagen Open University . Since the 2008/09 season he has been playing for the national league club VfR 09 Stockach. In the 2014/2015 season he became champions of the district league A with FC Bodman-Ludwigshafen and now plays with this club in the Bodensee district league.
