The pubic cleft ( Rima vulvae or Rima pudendi ) is the furrow between the two outer labia in women . It is part of the vulva at the base of the mound of venus .

The numerous depictions of pubic clefts without protruding labia minora and clitoral hood in art and pornography increased the spread of labioplasty to reduce the size.
