Sheschonq IV.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sheschonq IV was a pharaoh (king) of the 23rd Dynasty in ancient Egypt . His reign is from around 809/806 to 803/800 BC. To apply. But its existence is hardly guaranteed.

On a Nilstands stamp from Karnak a pharaoh Scheschonq with the throne name Reich an Maat, a Re and the nickname lover of Amun in the time of the high priest Takelot is mentioned. His names are with those of Scheschonq III. identical (is still worn by nine rulers of the 3rd intermediate period). However, it may have to be deleted as there is no evidence of its existence. After Kenneth A. Kitchen he was with Karomama Meritmut III. , the mother of Osorkon III. married. He was probably buried in a grave next to that of Karomama Meritmut III. in Tell Moqdan / Leontopolis . A granite sarcophagus, gold jewelry and canopic jars were found .
