Pforzheim jewelry museum

The Pforzheim jewelry museum in the Reuchlinhaus is a special museum on the history of jewelry . Building on collections established in the 19th century, it houses thousands of historical pieces of jewelery: originals from five millennia, from examples from prehistoric and early historical cultures to contemporary jewelery.

The focus is on gems from Greek and Etruscan - Roman antiquity, from the Renaissance and Art Nouveau . The extensive ring collection and the probably unique collection of contemporary jewelry are of high standing . Also ethnographic jewelery and a pocket watch collection can be seen. In addition, a section of the museum is dedicated to the history of the city of Pforzheim as the center of the German jewelry and watch industry.

There are regular special exhibitions on historical, ethnological and modern topics of jewelry and goldsmithing .
