The Schwarzenlachenbach , often simply called the Schwarze Lache locally , is a 5 km long stream in northeast Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Bühler from the left at Sulzdorf - Anhausen . It is a fine material rich, carbonate low mountain range of the Keuper.

geography

Spring streams

The upper source streams of the black laughter stream generated in height of 425- 465  m above sea level. NN on the loamy slopes of an indentation of the Haller level in the Limpurger mountains southwest of Schwäbisch Hall -Sulzdorf, in summer often much lower on the slope. Some start no further than 500 m from the course of the upper Fischach , which flows towards the southeast towards the upper Bühler . The valley slopes of this competitor down from the watershed are usually much flatter than those on this side to the Schwarzenlachenbach. Its source streams have therefore already divided the plateau still preserved on the western branch of the Limpurger Mountains towards the Kocher into a chain of individual mountains: Bauernschnäue with Dachswald, Rauher Berg, Neuberg and Hehlberg .

The longest source branch, Brühlbach, rises a little north-below the mountain saddle between Dachswald in the west and Rauhem Berg in the east and initially moves in a north-easterly direction towards Sulzdorf. After exiting the hillside forest into the flat bay, it flows between wooded banks in a small hollow and merges with the left Schwarzenlachenbach , the name of which the combined brook then bears. This then crosses under the L 1060 near the houses of the Schwarze Lache residential area and immediately afterwards takes on the Neubergbach from the right , which was itself fed by the Hehlbergbach shortly before .

course

The Schwarzenlachenbach, accompanied by alder trees and poplars , crosses the Sulzdorf industrial area in a meadow that has been kept free of buildings , flows in a pipe near the station through the embankment of the Crailsheim – Heilbronn railway line and then between parts of the Sulzdorf settlement and towards the center of the village, with its valley becoming noticeably stronger deepens. Here it soon runs quite flat and wide a little to the right above the deepest of the trough; A few steps before it would reach the old Sulzdorfer Dorfmühle in this direction, today the seat of the local Heimatverein, where an overshot wooden mill wheel illustrates the purpose of the former damming, it is now diverted via a fish ladder back to the middle of the valley to the confluence of the Rohrwiesenbach on the left . From now on up to its mouth it flows steadily in an easterly direction.

In the meantime, a little steeper, but not yet cut very deeply, the Schwarzenlachenbach below the village mill crosses the high embankment of the street named after it, which connects the center of the village on the left slope with the village parts on the right; A good 100 m further down the valley, the much deeper old connecting road leads over it, which required quite uncomfortable climbs on both sides. A little later the first still low bank demolitions can be seen in the streambed. Above the quarry path, which accompanies the ever deeper buried brook and soon leaves the place, banked rock edges of old, small shell limestone quarries appear and the valley fills with forest. A little later the Erlenbach flows in from the right , the village's sewage treatment plant is located in its triangular mouth, to the right of it is a sparse limestone wall secured with steel nets. After a short arc of the stream to the north , the Rotbach flows from the left, coming from the area around Matheshörlebach , then the valley widens to form a narrow floodplain, mostly unforested and used as pastureland. The stream here mostly sticks to the right foot of the slope under a slope that is very steep on this side and in some places showing rock banks. In this way he reaches the small mill hamlet of Anhausen , where an old stone bridge spans him, which connects the church square and today's dirt road in the south with the houses of the settlement. Below the retaining walls of the church square, which is hollowed out by two grottos and which stands in the upward corner of the mouth, the brook falls over a roaring, head-high waterfall to the level of the Bühler , which takes it from the left after its course of about 5.3 km in length.

Catchment area

The Schwarzlachenbach drains 9.8 km². Its catchment area borders on that of the Otterbach in the north, in the northeast there are very short tributaries to the Bühler, in the southeast the Bühler tributary Hirtenbach flowing through Sulzdorf -Dörrenzimmern , in the south the upper Fischach , in the west the Waschbach flowing through Schwäbisch Hall- Hessental to the Kocher .

Tributaries and still waters

The tributaries of the higher order of the Schwarzenlachenbach are also listed from the source to the mouth, each indented under the immediate receiving water and arranged from its source to its mouth. Lengths and lake areas where available according to the surface water maps of the LUBW , otherwise measured on an official map.

geology

The source branches of the stream on the slopes of the Limpurger Mountains lie in the Mittelkeuper , in the shallow bay it reaches the Unterkeuper , about in the center of Sulzdorf then the Upper Muschelkalk , in which it remains from then on.

The Rautwiesenbach arises in a basin with no inflow on the surface, which provides a lot of water even in summer and is located roughly on the border between Mittelkeuper and Unterkeuper.

In the triangle of the mouth of the Rotbach, two old quarries in the Upper Muschelkalk lie one above the other. The rock face of the upper one almost reaches the bend in the slope that is typical for the transition from Muschelkalk to Unterkeuper, in its pit is the dark blue Küstnersgumpen , fed only by slope water , on which duckweed swim.

At the lower creek and its tributaries often occur tufa on -Bildungen. The Erlenbach, for example, flows into a delta that is more than 30 m wide, depending on the water flow, the branches of which run over a flat sintered cushion and then partially run down vertically into the Schwarzlachenbach. The Rotbach, which is initially flatter, catches up with its deepening residue on its last 200 m (as the crow flies) to the confluence by running over up to three meters high, rounded lobes on which limestone tufa accumulates. Such formations can also be seen on the rock over which the Anhäuser Kirchplatz is laid out. Stone cut from this holey material can be seen in the walls of old Sulzdorf buildings as well as on the bridge over the stream to Anhausener Kirchplatz shortly before the mouth.

history

The small hamlet of Anhausen, a mill town in the Bühlertal, was the starting point for the settlement of Sulzdorf; the original church of the area stood here on today's church square.

environment

On the northeast slope of the Limpurger Mountains and partly in the lower valley there is forest, in a narrow strip at the foot of the slope and in the other valleys there is mostly grassland. Otherwise, agricultural use dominates the plateau.

Sulzdorf is located in a strip from south to west between the L 1060 and the Crailsheim – Heilbronn railway line, with Sulzdorf's residential areas mostly on the other side of the railway line.

Sights and buildings

  • A hallmark of Sulzdorf that can be seen from afar is the high tower of the VELAG warehouse near the former train station.
  • Old village mill of Sulzdorf with water wheel and steam boiler.
  • The early church for Anhausen and the soon much larger town of Sulzdorf stood on the church square of Anhausen until the 19th century , sold for demolition in the 19th century, remnants of the furnishings are now in the State Museum in Stuttgart . In the 1960s or 1970s, it was prepared as an open-air church square with low masonry that shows the old room layout and a stone pulpit. Underneath, caves washed away by the water.
