Scott E. Anderson

Scott E. Anderson (born April 1, 1964 in Cortland , New York ) is an American special effects artist .

Life

Anderson began his career in the late 1980s and made his feature film debut in 1989 with James Cameron's science fiction film Abyss . In 1996 , he won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects for the comedy A Pig Called Babe, along with Charles Gibson , Neal Scanlan and John Cox . They were also nominated for the film together with Chris Chitty for the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Visual Effects , but the award this year went to Ron Howard's Apollo 13 .

Anderson was nominated for two more Academy Awards, in 1998 for Paul Verhoevens Starship Troopers and in 2001 for Verhoevens Hollow Man . While he missed out on both Oscars, he received the Saturn Award for the best special effects for each of the films .
