Sean Kingston (born February 3, 1990 in Miami , Florida ; actually Kisean Anderson ) is an American singer and rapper .

Life

Kingston was born in Miami, but grew up in Jamaica and then returned to the United States. He combines different styles of music in his songs such as reggae , rap and pop and is known for having both an American and a Jamaican dialect . He worked with rapper Mims on the remix Like This . His mother was imprisoned for tax evasion from 2005 to October 2007.

The producer JR Rotem, who has already written hits for Rihanna , 50 Cent , Britney Spears and Snoop Dogg , took the then 17-year-old under his wing and produced Kingston's first music album . The first two single releases were Beautiful Girls and Me Love . The album was released on July 31, 2007 in the United States and on September 14, 2007 in Germany.

On May 29, 2011, Kingston was seriously injured while jet-skiing against a bridge pier in Miami . He suffered a broken jaw, severe hip injuries, and had water in his lungs. On June 19, Kingston announced on Twitter that he was feeling better and that he was on the mend.
