The Dresden section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) e. V. ( DAV Dresden for short ) is a section of the German Alpine Club in Dresden . It was founded on April 9, 1873 as the 32nd section of the DuOeAV . The DAV Dresden is one of the older and with 5,876 members (as of December 31, 2018) one of the larger sections of the German Alpine Club in 50th place. After the Saxon Mountaineering Association, it is the second largest section in Dresden and in eastern Germany, ahead of the Leipzig section .

history

The section spent the years from 1953 to 2000 in “exile” in Wuppertal and Böblingen (branch is the Böblingen section ), and since 2000 it has returned to its home town of Dresden.

Stubai Alps
  • Dresdner Hütte , 2308 m (built in 1875, new building as early as 1887)
  • Hochstubaihütte , 3173 m (built 1930–1933)
  • Zollhütte , In the immediate vicinity of the Dresdner Hütte is the former customs hut. In 2012, a mountain hut was created from a structure that had been empty for decades.
