Localization of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany

In the Morsum district of the municipality of Sylt on Sylt , the NDR operates a transmission system for radio reception on VHF . An 80 meter high freestanding steel lattice tower, which was erected in 1991, is used as the antenna carrier. This replaced an old steel lattice mast of lower height. The transmitter is located approx. 200 meters northwest of the eastern tip of the island of Sylt, north of the railway line of the Marschbahn in the “ Noesse ” nature reserve . Programs broadcast from here can be received not only on the island of Sylt, but also on the neighboring German and Danish mainland, as well as on the neighboring islands of Amrum , Föhr and Rømø as well as the Halligen due to the geographical location and the transmission power .
