Sergei Nikolajewitsch Galizki ( Russian Сергей Николаевич Галицкий , English Sergey Galitsky, born August 14, 1967 in Lasarewskoje , district of Sochi , USSR ) is a Russian entrepreneur and billionaire. He is the founder of the Magnit retail chain and president of the FK Krasnodar football club .

life and career

Sergei Galizki was born in 1967 in Lasarevskoje , a district of Sochi , to an Armenian father and a Russian mother. He studied economics at the Kuban State University until 1993 . In 1994 he founded a retail chain under the name "Tander". In 1998 he opened his first supermarket under the name Magnit ; further branches soon followed.

Magnit grew into a billion dollar company within a few years. Today Magnit is not only one of the largest retail chains in Russia, but also one of the largest Russian companies. In 2008 Galitsky founded the football club FK Krasnodar , of which he is president to this day. On the list of the world's richest people in 2010, he was ranked 342nd with an estimated net worth of $ 2.9 billion.

Sergei Galitzky is the owner of the 104 m luxury yacht Quantum Blue, which was built by Lürssen in 2014 .
