Sergejs Čudinovs , Russian Сергей Чудинов often also Sergei Tschudinow or Sergej Tchoudinov , English : Sergei Chudinov (born September 10, 1962 in Chelyabinsk , Russian SFSR ), is a former Soviet, then German - Latvian player and today's coach who is the position of the defender played. In the highest Soviet league he was active for HK tractor Chelyabinsk , HK CSKA Moscow and Dinamo Riga .
Career
Čudinovs began his career in 1982 in his native Chelyabinsk with HK Traktor Chelyabinsk , for whom he played for two years. He then completed a season with their league rivals HK CSKA Moscow before he went seven seasons for Dinamo Riga in the Soviet league on the ice.
In 1992 Čudinovs moved to Germany , where he joined the EV Ravensburg for three years . He then went on the ice for one season for EA Schongau in the 2nd division before he put his skates on for the first time in the second highest German division for EHC Neuwied in 1996/97 . With the Deichstädtern he won the DEB League Cup in 1997 and the championship of the 1st division in 1997. Tschudinow spent the following two and a half seasons in Lower Saxony at GEC Nordhorn in the 2nd Bundesliga and ended the 1999/2000 season after the GEC went bankrupt at their league competitor Heilbronner Falken , for whom he also played the following season.
Then Čudinovs played for ESV Bayreuth , Stuttgart Wizards , EC Wilhelmshaven and TuS Geretsried in the upper and regional leagues .
International
Čudinovs took part for the Latvian national ice hockey team in the C world championships in 1993 , the B world championships in 1995 and 1996, and in the ice hockey world championships in 1997 , 1998 and 1999 . He played 40 games in which he scored 18 goals and 15 assists.
Trainer
After his active career, Čudinovs coached EV Fürstenfeldbruck from the Landesliga Süd-West between 2007 and 2010 . In the 2010/11 season he was behind the gang at EHC Bayreuth from the BEL . There he was released on January 31, 2011 and Knut Pleger was appointed as his successor.
Private
Čudinovs is the father of Liliana Matthäus (born Kristina Liliana Čudinova ) and was therefore the father-in-law of Lothar Matthäus from 2009 to 2011 .
