The disease Commission is according to § 21 of the Austrian law animal disease during an outbreak of an animal disease einzurichtendes body that used to elucidate and control of this outbreak.

In addition to the official veterinarian as head, the epidemic commission usually includes the community leader or a person named by him who is familiar with the local conditions. The community committee can also delegate two technically suitable shop stewards to the commission. If the municipality does not appoint any persons to support the official veterinarian, the district administrative authority appoints the commission.
