Shlomo Artzi
Shlomo Artzi-Hertzig ( Hebrew שלמה ארצי-הרציג; * November 26, 1949 in Moschaw Alonei Abba / Northern Israel) is an Israeli pop and rock singer .
Life
He came to Tel Aviv with his parents, who were Holocaust survivors, when he was eight . His sister was Nava Semel . Artzi began composing his own songs at the age of 16 and remained active as a musician during his military service. His first place at the Israeli Song Festival in 1970 was a great success , and his debut album was released that year. After a few years with less success, he was able to establish himself as one of the most famous musicians in Israel in the pop-rock field.
He was selected to represent Israel in the 1975 Eurovision Song Contest . With the self-composed pop title At ve'ani he reached eleventh place.
