Timbaland Presents Shock Value 2 -

Timbaland Presents Shock Value 2 (German: Timbaland presents Schockwert 2) is the third solo studio album by the American music producer Timbaland . It was released in Germany on December 4th, 2009.

style

As with its predecessor, Timbaland is again working with numerous well-known and unknown artists. The part of the collaboration with Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake is very limited this time: Each of the two can only be heard on one track.

On the 1st part of Shock Value the tracks were mainly drawn from hip-hop elements. In the second part, however, pop and dance elements predominate.

criticism

The criticism was very different. The pooltrax.com site praised the album and the variety of styles. The cdstarts.de site only awarded 5.5 out of 10 points and complained that the quality of the album did not come close to that of its predecessor. The side dasding.de awarded 03.05 points.

Timbaland himself says about the album:

"I'm so fortunate and blessed to be able to create a Shock Value II, I'm really proud of the caliber of artists on this album and all the work they put into making it a success. I can promise that no one has ever heard Katy Perry, The Fray, or Brandy sound like this before. It's exciting because not only am I giving fans the best of me on each track, I'm giving them a glimpse of their favorite artist in a completely different light. This is an album that can be listened to from start to finish every single time because each song is so unique and the range of artists so diverse. I can't wait for my fans to hear the collaborations. "

"I am very happy that I had the opportunity to record Shock Value 2. I am also very proud to have such a large number of top-class feature guests on my album. The special thing about it is that you can get artists like Katy Perry, The Fray or Brandy will be heard in a way that has never been heard before. I not only show my fans the best of myself on every track, but also give listeners the opportunity to see their favorite artists in a completely different light The album is unique and diverse from cover to cover, so I can't wait for my fans to hear the collaborations. "

Success and chart placements

In contrast to its predecessor, the album placed very modestly in the worldwide charts.
