Sieglinde Schneider (* in Aachen ) is a German singer ( dramatic soprano ).

Life

Sieglinde Schneider's musical talent was discovered very early on: from the age of 6, she sang in the municipal singing school in Aachen, where she performed small solo parts in performances. In 1971, at the age of 17, she passed the stage aptitude test at the Bonn Theater under the direction of director Karl Pempelfort . This was followed by training in rhythm and singing at the music academies in Cologne, Vienna and Freiburg, which she completed in 1984 with a state diploma and an artistic stage qualification. She completed master classes with Walter Berry , Daniel Ferro and Maxine Davis, among others . A dramatic soprano developed from the child's voice.

After completing her studies, Sieglinde Schneider worked as a freelance song and concert singer. In the late 1980s she toured Switzerland and Germany with a Spanish song program accompanied by guitars. In 1989 the Lorca songs were recorded on Südwestfunk . Schneider also took part in a recording of the opera Le pauvre matelot by Darius Milhaud at the DRS (Studio Basel).

She kicked u. a. in the Munich Philharmonie am Gasteig (together with the Munich Guitar Quartet) and in the Berlin Philharmonie (1998; as a soloist in the Oratorio Paulus ), but also internationally, for example in Moscow and in the Deutsches Haus in New York.

In April 2000 she appeared in the Trinitatis Church in Cologne as a soprano soloist in the oratorio Der Messias ; a live recording of the concert was also released on CD. In 2005 she sang the role of Pamina in the opera Die Zauberflöte in a concert opera production in Bochum under the musical direction of Peter Gunde . At the start of the Saarlouis Organ Days, she took part as a soloist in the German premiere of Giovanni Paisiello's Mass and Te Deum from the Coronation Music for Napoleon I in October 2005 .

In 1995, Schneider and Stewart Emerson released the CD Lieder by female composers at the piano , which contained recordings by Luise Adolpha Le Beau , Emilie Zumsteeg , Luise Reichardt , Clara Schumann , Fanny Hensel and Alma Mahler . The CD was supported by the Art and Culture Foundation.

In addition to her artistic activity, Schneider works as a voice trainer and vocal teacher . As a lecturer, she worked at the University of Koblenz (singing) and at Southern Oregon University (in a master class ).

A highlight of her career was an appearance in the German Bundestag on the 2009 Memorial Day . Sieglinde Schneider performed songs from her program “War and Peace” under the motto “Confidence in Music and Literature”.

Schneider lives in Kall in the Eifel .
