Sierra Nevada de Lagunas Bravas

Sierra Nevada de Lagunas Bravas is a group of extinct volcanoes in Chile and Argentina with an area of 225 km² . The Sierra Nevada Group consists of at least twelve volcanic craters . Two of them are stratovolcanoes . The highest point is the Cumbre del Laudo with a height of 6127  m .

Part of the volcano group comes from the Holocene . Volcanism from the Pleistocene is also proven. The older rock is in the east, in Argentina. Studies are made difficult because the group is located in one of the most remote regions of the Andes . The time of the last outbreak is unknown.
