Simpsons Comics are a series of comics distributed monthly by the comic publishing group Bongo Comics , dealing with the protagonists of The Simpsons , in particular Bart , Lisa , Marge , Maggie and Homer , but also other characters . In Germany, the Simpsons Comics are one of the most successful comic series with around 32,000 copies sold per quarter (as of 02/2010).

However, the format was discontinued in 2018 due to low sales. The 245th edition (USA) and the 248th edition (German-speaking countries, published on December 12, 2018) were the last in the series. The American script writer Nathan Kane assured fans that they could count on comics about the Simpsons to appear again in the near future.

The booklet consists of a 25 to 27-page comic and editorial pages, which mostly consist of information about the comic, letters to the editor and the like. The comics are made up of new stories and will not be carried over from the TV series . However, some editions take up similar topics, for example issue # 131 and the TV episode 24 minutes ( 18th season ), both a parody of the TV series 24 .

In addition to the comic stories, the US original edition has again included an editorial section since issue # 186, after having been abandoned for almost four years.

The Bongo Comics Group , founded by Matt Groening , Bill Morrison , Steve and Cindy Vance , has been publishing the Simpsons Comics and minor series since 1993, which are translated by Panini Verlag (formerly: Dino Verlag ) and distributed in German-speaking countries . The 200th edition was published in June 2013.
