Sinan Hasani

Sinan Hasani (born May 14, 1922 in Pozaranje , east of Uroševac , Kingdom of Yugoslavia , † August 28, 2010 in Belgrade , Serbia ) was a Yugoslav politician and Albanian-speaking writer.

Life

Sinan Hasani was a member of the Yugoslav People's Liberation Army from 1941 and joined the Communist Party of Yugoslavia in 1942 . He was captured by Germany in 1944 and taken to a camp near Vienna . After the war he studied at the ""uro Đaković" party school in Belgrade . He held several party offices, was chairman of the Socialist League of the Working People of Yugoslavia (Socijalistički savez radnog naroda Jugoslavije, abbreviated: SSRNJ) of Kosovo and from 1965 to 1967 director of the Rilindja publishing house .

From 1971 to 1974 he was Yugoslav Ambassador to Denmark , 1975 to 1982 Deputy Yugoslav Parliament President. From May 1986 to May 1987 he was Chairman of the Presidium of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and thus President.

Sinan Hasani wrote some novels, e.g. Some have also been translated into Serbo-Croatian and Macedonian .
