Sinfonia Varsovia is a Polish symphony orchestra, founded in 1984 by clarinetist Franciszek Wybrańczyk (1934-2006).

It originated from the Polish Chamber Orchestra. When Yehudi Menuhin came to Warsaw to record some records with the orchestra, the orchestra was enlarged by new members and got its current name. Menuhin became the first permanent guest conductor.

The orchestra played under the artistic direction of Krzysztof Penderecki until his death in March 2020 . Marc Minkowski took over the musical direction from June 2008 .

The orchestra travels almost all the time. There were concerts in Germany , France , Italy , Spain , Austria , Finland , Portugal , Belgium , Holland , Great Britain , Switzerland , Greece , Argentina , Brazil , Chile , Hong Kong , Japan , Korea and Taiwan .
