Cross-country skiing Far East Cup in Otoineppu
The Cross-Country Far East Cup in Otoineppu has been part of the Cross Country Far East Cup since the 2004/05 season . It is hosted by the International Ski Federation (FIS), the Hokkaido Ski Federation and operated by the Otoineppu Board of Education. The competitions take place in the village of Otoineppu north of Hokkaidō .
history
The idea of holding a Far East Cup in Otoineppu came from the Japanese Ski Association and Otoineppu Ski Association to strengthen Asian cross-country skiers. The first Far East Cup took place on December 26, 2004. From the 2004/05 to 2009/10 season the men’s competitions took place in 7.5 km classic and freestyle, from the 2010/11 season 10 km classic and freestyle since the first edition in 2004/05, the women's competitions have only been held in the classic and freestyle 5 km.
