Dokmanović was tracked down and arrested in 1997 by members of the Polish special unit GROM in Bosnia. He and Mile Mrkšić , Veselin Šljivančanin and Miroslav Radić had to answer for their roles in connection with the Vukovar massacre . At the beginning of his trial at the Hague War Crimes Tribunal , he pleaded not guilty on all charges.
