The Soła (German Sola ) is a right tributary of the Vistula in Poland .
It rises in the Polish part of the Jablunkau mountainous region above the village of Rycerka Górna close to the border with Slovakia . The source of the Soła is about 13 km south of the sources of the Olsa and Vistula .
The river initially runs north-northeast and separates the Silesian and Saybuscher Beskids. The town of Żywiec (Saybusch) lies on the Soła , where the Koszarawa flows into . Below the city, the Soła is dammed several times on its further north to the city of Kęty (Liebenwerde) , the largest of these reservoirs is the Żywiec reservoir . The Soła flows through the town of Oświęcim (Auschwitz) , a few meters from the Auschwitz concentration camp , and flows into the Vistula after about 80 km in the Vistula, 1 km northeast of the town near the village of Broszkówice.
