External research platforms at the Columbus space laboratory

The Solar Monitoring Observatory (Solar) is one of the external experimental laboratories attached to the Columbus Space Laboratory , ESA's science laboratory for the International Space Station .

Solar was mounted on the outer shell on February 15, 2008 and serves as a platform for three scientific experiments to study the sun.
