Sonja Manzenreiter
Sonja Manzenreiter (born July 18, 1975 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian luge athlete . She has been sledding since 1983 and has been a member of the Austrian national team since 1997. In 2006 she announced her retirement from competitive sports.
Life
She celebrated her first major successes in 1992 and 1993 when she became junior world champion. In her first Olympic participation in 1998 in Nagano she was tenth, four years later in Salt Lake City she finished seventh. Her best place at world championships was the bronze medal with the team in Sigulda in 2003 , in the individual competition she reached fourth in 2004 in Nagano. Space. In the same year she came in 5th place at the European Championships in Oberhof . At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she crashed in the 3rd run and was eliminated from the competition.
