The Spessart Museum in Lohrer Schloss in Lohr am Main shows the history of the castle and the Spessart .

Lohr Castle has been used as a Spessart Museum since 1972. It is also dedicated to the topic of people and the forest .

On more than 2000 square meters, the museum shows on four levels how stone-carvers, blacksmiths, hefners (potters), carpenters, shipbuilders, Wagner, Büttner, joiners, glassmakers and other tradespeople made use of the available raw material and energy sources and, in addition to everyday objects, also luxury products for created the better society.

Iron processing, glass and mirror production will be presented. The visitors can experience the world of the common people and the ruling class by means of original objects and room arrangements. The glass department shows gems from six centuries. The milieu of the Spessart robbers , who had their subculture as outsiders of society, is also presented.

Because Lohr calls itself the Snow White City, this topic is also dealt with with exhibits such as the Talking Mirror .
