Sportfreunde Larrelt (officially: Sportverein Sportfreunde Emden-Larrelt from 1928 eV ) is a sports club from the Larrelt district of Emden . The first soccer team played in the 1948/49 season in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The club was founded on March 2, 1919 as Germania Larrelt and was initially active in workers' sports. After internal disagreements, the club was initially dissolved in 1926 and re-established on July 28, 1928 as Freie Turnerschaft Larrelt . When the National Socialists came to power , the club was renamed FC Grün-Weiß Larrelt .

After the Second World War , the team won the championship of the district class in 1948 and rose to the Landesliga Weser / Ems , which they had to leave after a year as bottom of the table. The low point of the season was a 0:11 defeat at TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven . In the following season, the Larrelter in the amateur league 1 were passed down. In 1955 the current name of the club was adopted.

Already in the first season under the current name, the promotion to the amateur league 1 succeeded . After two years the descent of the Sportfreunde followed to the district league. The club then shuttled between the district and district league. In 2014, the championship in the newly created Ostfrieslandliga was won and thus the promotion to the district league was achieved.
