The 33 Squash World Cup ( English PSA World Championship ) Men found from October 28 to November 6, 2011 at the Luxor Theater in Rotterdam , The Netherlands instead. It was the most valuable tournament on the PSA World Tour 2011/12 .

Englishman Nick Matthew managed to successfully defend his title from last year. After smooth wins over Stéphane Galifi and Tarek Momen , Matthew had to walk the full distance of five sets before he could defeat Mohamed Elshorbagy, who was ninth . In the quarterfinals he defeated Peter Barker 3-1, in the semifinals the third-placed Egyptian Karim Darwish clearly 3-0. In the final, he met six-seeded French Grégory Gaultier , who for his part had initially clearly won against Dylan Bennett and César Salazar . Gaultier was also only able to win his round of 16 against Laurens Jan Anjema in the fifth set , before he subsequently benefited from the injury-related abandonment of Ramy Ashour . In the semifinals, he defeated the four seeded Englishman James Willstrop 3-0. In the final, Nick Matthew had the upper hand with 9:11, 11: 9, 11: 6 and 11: 5. It was his second title after 2010 when he defeated James Willstrop in the final. For Grégory Gaultier it was already the third final at a world championship that he lost, as in 2006 and 2007. Nick Matthew became the first squash player since Jansher Khan to defend his world title from last year. Khan did this for the last time in 1996.

A total of three players from German-speaking countries took part in the main round: Raphael Kandra from Germany initially successfully qualified, but had no chance against Cameron Pilley in the first round . The second German player, Simon Rösner , was eliminated after the opening round in the second round against the Egyptian Mohamed Elshorbagy. The only Swiss participant in the main field, Nicolas Müller , also only reached the second round, in which he lost to Ramy Ashour in five sets. Jens Schoor from Germany (defeat in the second qualifying round), Aqeel Rehman from Austria and Reiko Peter from Switzerland (both defeats in the first qualifying round) competed in the qualification.

David Palmer , world champion in 2002 and 2006, ended his active professional career after losing to Karim Darwish in the quarter-finals at the age of 35.

There were a total of 64 participants in the main field, the 16 best players were seeded. The 32 best participants in the following started directly in the first round, the other 16 starting positions were determined through a qualification. A total of 64 players competed in the qualification. Thus a total of 112 players were involved in the 2011 World Cup.
