The Sports Center St. Jakob is located on the territory of the former battlefield of the year 1444 took place Battle of St. Jakob an der Birs on the floor of the three municipalities Münchenstein (81%), Muttenz (11%) and Basel (8%). St. Jakob-Park is the largest football stadium in Switzerland. The new building held 33,330 seats (including standing room) or 31,500 seats. For the Euro 2008 the stadium was enlarged to 42,500 seats by building an additional balcony on the embankment side and moving the chairs together. After the European Championships, the chairs were then moved further apart, which leads to a current capacity of 38,512 seats. The previous, demolished stadium, which had to make way for the new building, was called the St. Jakob Stadium . The local name "Joggeli" was retained.

Schänzli equestrian facility

The sand trotting track with its grandstand meets the highest international requirements. Inside these are the facilities for dressage, driving and jumping, as well as the fixed cross-country jumps for eventing tests. The gastronomy was not forgotten either.

St. Jakob garden pool

The St. Jakob garden pool in Münchenstein was created in the 1950s by the architects Rasser and Vadi . There are swimming competitions, beach volleyball tournaments and much more. The “Kino am Pool” and the “Nautilus Festival” are also held annually.
