The trade journal Stahl und Eisen (own spelling "stahl und eisen") is a monthly magazine for the production and processing of iron and steel and the corresponding companies and markets. It has been published since 1881 and is now supplemented by an ePaper version and supported by social media channels (Facebook, Xing and Twitter).
history
The magazine was the organ of the steel institute VDEh - the former "Association of German Ironworkers" and was published by the association's own publishing house Stahleisen in Düsseldorf. The magazine has been published by Maenken Kommunikation in Cologne since 2018/19, with the steel institute VDEh acting as co-editor.
Content
The magazine informs its readers about current events and developments in the national and international steel and iron industry, primarily through technical articles. Topics from companies, markets and the economy are taken up in German or English and explained in a sector-specific manner.
Furthermore, innovations, achievements and technical processes in metallurgy are presented in order to familiarize the reader with trends.
target group
The target group are decision-makers in top and middle management in the steel-producing and metal-forming industry, as well as in plant, machine and industrial furnace construction.
Others
The thematically comparable journals Stahlmarkt and MPT International , as publishing sisters of Stahl und Eisen, are also aimed at the steel and iron industry. While Stahlmarkt is primarily geared towards executives from steel distribution, steel service centers and the steel processing and processing branches, the English-speaking MPT International sees itself as a comprehensive source of information about new investments, companies and technologies.
