Stanmore is an above-ground London Underground station in the London Borough of Harrow . It is located in Travel Zone 5 on London Road. In 2014, 3.89 million passengers used the northwest terminus of the Jubilee Line .

The station was opened on December 10, 1932 by the Metropolitan Railway (predecessor of the Metropolitan Line ) and formed part of the new, electrified from the start, branching off the main line in Wembley Park . After the integration of the Metropolitan Railway into the network of the London Underground in the following year, it was decided to transfer operations on the branch line to the Bakerloo Line , which happened on November 20, 1939. The Bakerloo Line in turn was replaced on May 1, 1979 by the newly opened Jubilee Line.
