Stefan Karge (* 1963 ) is a German amateur astronomer from Frankfurt am Main . He discovered 51 asteroids mainly in collaboration with Erwin Schwab , Rainer Kling or Ute Zimmer . His main job is logistics .

Astronomical Achievements & Discoveries

Stefan Karge is an active member of the Physikalischer Verein - Society for Education and Science , which was founded in 1824. He is dedicated to astronomical education and gives numerous lectures every year, especially in the greater Frankfurt area. His astronomical observations are particularly dedicated to quasars . He made publications on the subjects of quasars, minor planets and general celestial observation .

Between 2007 and 2011 he was involved in the discovery of 49 asteroids from the Hans Ludwig Neumann observatory ( IAU code B01) on the Kleiner Feldberg in the Taunus . (278141) Tatooine was the first asteroid that he discovered on February 15, 2007 together with Erwin Schwab.

Between February 2009 and March 2010 he discovered two asteroids alone through the Tzec Maun Observatory ( IAU Code H10) in Mayhill (New Mexico) , USA . The telescopes of this observatory can be remotely controlled online with access authorization.
