Stefan Marquard (born June 20, 1964 in Schweinfurt ) is a German chef and television chef .

Life

In 1981, after training as a butcher, Marquard began another apprenticeship as a chef at the Hotel Rebstock in Würzburg . After the journeyman's examination, he gained professional experience in what was then the top restaurant Graues Haus in Oestrich-Winkel (1982–1985, 1987–1988) and at the Rottner inn with Stefan Rottner in Nuremberg (1985–1987). After a culinary journey through Italy (1988–1989) inspired by Adalbert Schmitt , during which he worked in the 12 best restaurants in Italy, in 1989 he became head chef at Taverna la Vigna in the Schweizer Stuben in Wertheim-Bettingen, where his kitchen best Italian cuisine ”in Germany.

In 1991 he opened his own restaurant Drei Stuben in Meersburg . This was awarded 18 points by Gault Millau as “Innovation of the Year 2000” and with a Michelin star . Then took Stefan Marquard 2001-2003 the culinary direction of the "Lenbach" in Munich , until it again in 2003 in Tutzing on Lake Starnberg as caterers (Jolly Roger Cooking Gang), event and show cooking as well as consultants independently made.

After that, Stefan Marquard mainly concentrated on training, advice and concept creation (kitchen planning, kitchen team induction, team motivation) for everything to do with the catering sector, from product development to cooking shows . In 2011, together with Thomas Karlowsky, he designed the “Rockchef Collection”, a separate line of workwear .

In 2014, Marquard founded his Marquard Academy, in which he offers seminars for chefs, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs and cooking enthusiasts.

In 2015, he and the Knappschaft started the prevention project Star Kitchen Makes School .

He is a member of the board of trustees of the Anton Schrobenhauser Foundation, the sponsor of the Kids to life projects for disadvantaged children.

Private

Stefan Marquard lives in Pliening with his wife Christine and two sons .
