Steffen Kopetzky

Steffen Kopetzky (born January 26, 1971 in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm ) is a German writer who is involved in local politics .

life and work

Steffen Kopetzky studied philosophy and romance languages in Munich , Paris and Berlin . Since 1993 he lived as a freelance writer in Berlin for a few years before returning to his birthplace in Hallertau (between Munich and Ingolstadt). He is married and has two children.

Steffen Kopetzky, who is a member of the PEN Center Germany , writes novels , radio plays , radio features and plays . While the first two novels show Kopetzky's enormous reading in a playful form, Grand Tour is a sprawling, postmodern narrative in which the author u. a. processed personal experience as a sleeper car attendant and as a Baldreit scholarship holder in Baden-Baden.

From 2002 to 2008 he was artistic director of the Bonn Biennale.

Since 2007 Steffen Kopetzky has been in the local politics of Pfaffenhofen a. d. Ilm committed. In the local elections in 2008 he was elected to the city council as a non-party on the list of the SPD and works there as a cultural advisor.
