Steinbüchel borders in the east on the municipality Odenthal, in the south on Schlebusch , in the south-west on Alkenrath and in the north on Lützenkirchen .
history
In 1158 a knight Konrad von Steinbüchel was mentioned for the first time. The Steinbücheler Chapel, on the other hand, was first mentioned in a document in 1318. Since 1360 Steinbüchel belonged to the office Miselohe in the Duchy of Berg . During the Truchsessian War the church in Steinbüchel was looted on August 11, 1583. In 1732 the manor house of the knight's seat Steinbüchel was rebuilt and in 1806 the Duchy of Berg came from the Kingdom of Bavaria to Napoleon . Since 1820 the Steinbüchel community was part of the Schlebusch mayor's office. This became part of the new city of Leverkusen on April 1, 1930. At the end of the 20th century, the new development area in Meckhofen was planned and built.
