Stephan Josef Krey
Stephan Josef Krey (born September 14, 1803 in Benrath , † July 22, 1873 in Opladen ) was a German Catholic pastor .
Life
Krey studied at the University of Bonn theology . In 1827 he became vicar in Hilden . In 1828 he took over the parish of St. Remigius in Opladen. While maintaining this parish, in 1844 he became dean for the Solingen dean's office . The Aloysianum Opladen was founded on his initiative in 1850 . In 1855 he commissioned the Cologne architect and diocesan master builder Vincenz Statz to plan a new building for the parish church of St. Remigius. It was completed in 1863 and consecrated at the same time after the old church was demolished in 1862.
Awards
The city of Leverkusen has given him in 1975 as part of municipal restructuring , the Dechant-Krey Street dedicated in the district of Opladen.
