Stephen Csillag
Stephen "Steve" Csillag (born April 19, 1907 in Hungary , † May 26, 1969 in Los Angeles , California ) was a Hungarian - American film technician and film editor . At the Academy Awards in 1950 he was awarded an Oscar for technical merit .
Life
In 1940, Csillag worked as a film editor on the cartoon Fantasia by Walt Disney Studios , a classic in film history. Csillag also worked as an editor for the musical film Sweethearts of the USA with Una Merkel , released in 1944 .
Csillag, who was then working for Paramount Pictures , received a Technical Achievement Award with Charles R. Daily at the 1950 Academy Awards “for working together in the Paramount Studio, Engineering, Editorial and Music departments for a new precision process Calculation of variable click tracks "(" for a new precision method of computing variable tempo click tracks ").
