Stephen McNally

Horace Stephen McNally (born July 29, 1911 in New York City , New York - † June 4, 1994 in Beverly Hills , California ) was an American actor .

biography

McNally studied law at Fordham University in New York City and then worked as a lawyer. At the end of the 1930s he turned to acting, initially under the name Horace McNally, and made his debut in Silent Lips in 1940 , in which he again took on a role in 1948. In 1942 he moved to California to gain a foothold there as a film actor. At first he was only offered minor supporting roles. He was mostly cast in westerns, crime novels and war films. At the end of the 1950s, he was rarely hired for film roles and worked increasingly in television productions, where he had numerous guest appearances in various television series such as Detective Rockford - call is enough and Fantasy Island . McNally's acting career ended in 1980 after appearing in more than 100 film and television productions.

McNally was married to Rita Wintrich from 1941 until his death, and the marriage had eight children. He died of a heart attack in June 1994 at the age of 82 .
