Steve Brine (born January 28, 1974 in Portsmouth , Hampshire ) is a British journalist and politician with the Conservative Party .

Life

Brine attended Bohant School and studied history at Liverpool Hope University . From a young age he has worked as a journalist for the British radio and television broadcaster BBC on various programs. Brine has been a MP in the British House of Commons since 2010. From June 14, 2017 to March 25, 2019, Brine was Undersecretary of State in the Department of Public Health. On September 4, 2019, Brine was expelled from the Conservative Party group after his parliamentary opposition to a Brexit without an EU exit agreement. Brine is married.
