Monostitch

Monostitch or simply engraved (from the Greek  στίχος stichos "verse") is a metrical scheme called in the verse theory, which consists of the continuous repetition of a similar meter , in contrast to distichischen forms, in which two different meters alternate.

Well-known meters that often appear in engraved form are the epic hexameter , the alexandrine or the blank verse .
