Stillhof is a district of Meiningen in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia .

Stillhof is located on the southwestern outskirts of the district town of Meiningen on Henneberger Straße in the Reumles district . To the north-west is the Meiningen district of Drei 30 (30) . In the south, Stillhof borders the municipality of Untermaßfeld . At the Stillhof, the Meiningen-Haßfurt cycle path joins the Werra valley cycle path and the Main-Werra cycle path . At the Stillhofer roundabout, a roundabout, the state roads L 1124 (towards the city center), L 3019 (towards Mellrichstadt ) and L 3089 (towards Bundesautobahn 71 - AS Meiningen-Süd) meet.
history
In the Middle Ages, the place Reumles was located in the area of the Stillhof in the district of the same name. The place, mentioned in 1324 as "in Rymols", was already deserted at the end of the 14th century and the district became part of the town of Meiningen. From 1896 the “Stillhof” manor was built here . He took his name from the adjacent Stillberg, which is already in the suburb of Untermaßfeld. From the 18th century Chaussee Meiningen – Würzburg ran through Stillhof, which from 1934 on became Reichsstraße 19 and after the Second World War became Fernstraße 19 and after 1990 Bundesstraße 19 . At the beginning of April 1945 there was a skirmish between the advancing American troops and German units. During the GDR era, the estate became a branch of the VEG "Thomas Müntzer" Amalienruh. This set up a pig fattening system here, which was abandoned after the fall of the Wall. A planned conversion into a leisure facility failed.
As a result of the expansion of the city, some residential buildings and a commercial area were built at Stillhof, in which, among other things, there is a branch of the road construction authority in South Thuringia, a painting company and a ready-mixed concrete mixing plant. In the Meiningen city traffic , the Stillhof is connected to line 408.
