The Stimitzbach rises in Gößl ( Ausseerland , state of Styria ) near the Dengel wall in the Stimitz holes. The water seeping through the karst rock of the Dead Mountains emerges again at these three holes, which have a diameter of one to three meters. The Stimitz is characterized by its drinking water quality and the fact that the water has a temperature of only around +7 ° C in summer and winter. This property creates very nice thermoclines for divers at the confluence with the Grundlsee .
