Please note the note on the applicable legal version.

The Radiation Protection Act ( StrlSchG ) of the Federal Republic of Germany implements Directive 2013/59 / Euratom into national law. It contains regulations for the protection of people and - as far as long-term protection of human health is concerned, the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.

With the act, the federal German radiation protection law, which was previously based on the Atomic Energy Act and the Precautionary Radiation Protection Act , is given an independent and uniform basis. As a result, regulations are merged that were previously contained in the Radiation Protection Ordinance and the X-ray Ordinance . Numerous specifications are updated and adapted to the state of scientific progress.
