The São Paulo Street Circuit (formerly Streets of São Paulo , in Brazil commonly known as Circuito do Anhembi referred to) is a street circuit in São Paulo , Brazil . The Itaipava São Paulo Indy 300 presented by Nestle , a race of the IndyCar Series , has been taking place on this racetrack since 2010 .

The race is the first race in the IndyCar Series outside of North America and Japan and the first of a major American monoposto racing series since the CART race in Jacarepaguá in 2000. Will Power won the first race on the track .

The route runs along the Anhembi Sambadrome and uses parts of the Marginal Tietê . The Anhembi Convention Center , where the São Paulo Carnival takes place, is located in the Santana district .

A special feature of the track is that the pit lane does not run parallel to the start-finish straight, but is positioned after the fourth corner.
