The film accompanies the five racing drivers Aksel Lund Svindal , Erik Guay , Max Franz , Hannes Reichelt and Juryj Danilatschkin as they prepare for the 2014 Hahnenkamm race on the Streif , the most dangerous downhill run in alpine skiing.

criticism
The film service ruled that the film portrays “the route as well as half a dozen of its victorious conquerors”. In spite of the “spectacular […] show values”, the “uncritical film gets tired due to its annoying adulation” and exhausts itself “in the pathetic celebration of fearless male heroism”.
“'Streif - One Hell of a Ride' is also tinkering with the myth of the 'Streif', but it does not transfigure, it explains: that skiing is a constant risk that the drivers expose themselves to forces that they are often unable to cope with.
