action

The 30-year-old kindergarten teacher Sissi Fischbacher is retraining to train the blind, but fails the crucial test. She gets another chance from her teacher: if she proves herself taking care of the recently blind Swedish-born steel manufacturer Theo Olsson, she'll still get her diploma.

Sissi still lives with her mother Gloria, who has to fight with her bad luck with the men. Sissi is often the contact person for her mother when she has problems and needs help. The bitter Olsson, in turn, becomes even more bitter because of his blindness, as he fears for his leadership position in his company, which is threatened with closure. Sissi gets to know Olsson's son Jens, who became a secondary school teacher after studying economics and has known his father as a bitter stubborn head all his life.

Despite all the problems, Sissi and Olsson are slowly finding a rapport. While she tries to make it clear to him that he needs help, he shows her that she cannot solve all her mother's problems. The growing sympathy between Sissi and Olsson contributes to the fact that Olsson and his son get closer again. After Theo Olsson's encouragement, Sissi tries to confess her love to Jens, but that turns out to be disappointing for her. At Sissi's idea, Jens Olsson accompanies his father to the crucial meeting with the donors to save his steelworks.

Olsson sells his company, which saves jobs, and makes up with his son. Sissi gets her diploma and moves out of her mother's home despite her concerns. When Sissi visits Olsson at the end of the care period, the two stand in the garden in the rain.

Reviews

"'Stubborn heads' lurches in the cliché mire, but thanks to the excellent craftsmanship of all those involved, it doesn't slip."

- The west

“Basically, the title 'Sturköpfe' is a synopsis: In her first television film after the cinema debut ' Tage, die haben ' (2011), Pia Strietmann tells the story of two stubborn people who tame each other. The personal constellation from which author Dominique Lorenz sparked this confrontation is not new, but it works wonderfully, not least thanks to the two main actors "

“That's probably the seductive thing about such narrative clichés: All too often they are set pretty close to reality. 'Stubborn' shows in a refreshing way how they can be reinterpreted in a seldom appropriate way. "
