Substitutive nomenclature

The substitutive nomenclature is a Namensgebungstyp the chemical nomenclature is in which the substituents or functional groups will find either as prefixes (prefixes) or extensions (suffixes) on behalf of the total composition.

The characteristic groups replace (substitute) the hydrogen atoms of the parent system.

The substitutive nomenclature is preferable to other nomenclature types (source?). Sometimes, however, other designations such as B. the radicofunctional nomenclature common.
