Sukhoi T-43

The T-43 aircraft was a further development of the T-3 . The same cell received a new adjustable air inlet, which also housed a ZD-30T radar . The entire avionics were revised and a pure rocket armament consisting of four K-51 guided missiles (R-2US) was provided. The also built-in more powerful AL-7F-1 engine and the improved aerodynamics of the T-43 led to a significant increase in performance, and the T-43 was also able to set several world records. So it was decided to convert the pattern into a series. After further minor changes, the production and introduction of troops as Su-9 took place from 1957 .
