Summarfestivalur
The Summarfestivalur (German summer festival ) is an open-air music festival that has been held annually since 2004 in Klaksvík on the Faroe Islands . The initiator and organizer is the musician Steintór Rasmussen .
The summer festival is next to the G! Festival the largest music festival in the Faroe Islands.
2006 played u. a. Maggie Reilly (GB), Roger Hodgson (GB), Sarah Brendel (D), Lena Anderssen (FO) and Høgni Lisberg (FO). Maggie Reilly had a world premiere of the songs from her new album, which was only released in Europe in September.
The most famous name for 2007 was the Scorpions . With an audience of 10,000, it was the largest concert in the history of the Faroe Islands. Other international names in 2007 were Kim Wilde (GB), Bryan Rice (DK), Banaroo (D), Amy Diamond (SE).
The best known name for 2009 is Robin Gibb .
In the past u. a. Týr (FO), Ken Hensley (GB), Boney M (D), Brian McFadden (IRL) and Shakin 'Stevens (GB).
