The Sunday River is a left tributary of the Androscoggin River in Oxford County in the southwest of the US state Maine .

The Sunday River has its source near Mount Carlo in the Mahoosuc Range . It flows in a predominantly easterly direction over a distance of 23 km to its confluence with the Androscoggin River about 5 km north of Bethel .

The lower 12 km of the Sunday River are connected to the canoe passable, wherein rapids of difficulty are II-III.

South of the river course of Sunday River is located the eponymous ski resort Sunday River .
