Sunnegga
Sunnegga is an alpine area in the canton of Valais , approx. 2 kilometers east of Zermatt .
Alp Sunnegga (from the German Sonnenecke) is located at 2280 m on a terrace and is marketed by Zermatt Tourism as Sunnegga paradise . Sunnegga is the starting point for many hikes in summer and an important junction for slopes in winter.
It can be reached from Zermatt with an underground funicular (" Métro ") through the Sunnegga tunnel and from Findeln with a chairlift . A gondola lift leads from Sunnegga to Blauherd , from where you can reach the Unterrothorn .
